Texas Blues meets New Orleans swamp rock. The great pianist Ms. Marcia Ball’s first studio album in 5 years and she’s got a lot to say whether she’s covering Bill Withers, or her own tunes.
1) 4:16 Midtempo New Orleans rock. Terence Simien helps on accordion.
2) 4:06 Midtempo bluesy title track.
3) 5:07 Slow crawling blues shows Ball’s lyrical talents to a sharp edge. Great song.
4) 4:05 Uptempo bouncy swing band sound.
5) 4:03 Midtempo straight blues.
6) 4:09 * Slow bluesy ballad. Pretty and nice organ.
7) 3:15 Midtempo bouncy swing, heart and soul.
8) 5:03 **Slow blues duet with Dr. John. Great track.
9) 3:23 Uptempo Cajun tune with Wayne Toups providing tasty accordion licks.
10) 4:52 Slow and bluesy love song.
11) 3:50 Uptempo blues/rock with a great piano intro.
12) 5:05 Slow with another really pretty piano intro.
13) 4:42 Slow pretty cover of a Bill Withers tune.
