Here are the best of the French singles we received for April from the Francophonie Diffusion network. Music from France and French-speaking countries. Styles range from straight-up French pop to reggae/hip hop, jazz and Afro-folk. Since these are hand-picked I can recommend any track. Piste 18 1. Véronique SANSON - Un peu d'air pur et hop 5:37 Sexy female vocals combined with a jazzy band makes for a very hip sound. Midtempo. 2. Habib KOITE - Imada 5:43 Truly delicious relaxed African sway with fabulous vocals & strings. 3. NOVOX - Funky miracle 3:39 A wicked tight funk groove with just a touch of jazz. So cool! Mid/up. 4. Philippe UMINSKI - Un jour je partirai 2:55 Totally hip pop with warm male vocals and a great band. Mid/up. 5. Rokia TRAORÉ- Laïdu 6:24 Gorgeous, soaring female vocals gliding over strings. Warm and sweet African folk. Mid. 6. Simon NWAMBEBEN - Kisowa 3:17 Relaxed, joyful African folk with fabulous male vocals and strings. Mid. 7. Tom DIAKITE- Jarabi 5:17 Sweet, husky male vocals soaring over warm and delicious African strings. Gorgeous! Midtempo. 8. LA-MC MALCRIADO- Nos pobrésa-Ké nos rikésa 5:49 Fresh and fun blend of Euro/Latin/Reggae/Hip Hop. Great vocals and totally catchy hook. 9.Constantino CARDOSO - Para Violao 4:28 Sensual male vocals with a hint of both Flamenco and Africa. Relaxed and romantic. Lush! 10.
