Put the words “Putumayo” “African” and “Party” together and you know you’re in for a good time. No disappointment here. It’s fun, frisky, fabulous music from both African superstars and some new names. Not a dud in the bunch.
1. Bright & breezy upbeat Afro pop w/great vocals, brass, perc.
2. Soaring fem vox & spoken male voc. Mid/up & so cool.
3. Delicious rumba soukous w/a sweet & joyful sound.
4. The great Tuku in a happy, head-nodding sway.
5. Cool female vox in a warm mid/upbeat dance. A great sound.
6. More gorgeous rumba soukous w/cool guitar, vocals. Yum.
7. Big, brassy highlife w/a hip mid/upbeat party sound.
8. Cool mbira/female vox. Mid/upbeat and happy.
9. Way cool sax, upbeat Congolese rumba w/fabulous band.
10. Warm Afro-Brazilian sway w/great husky male vox.
