(Modern) Classical prog from one of tbe greats. Univers Zero have been around for almost 3 1/2 decades and this is their remastered, reissued 1st album, also known as 1313. (Made in 1977). They have always remained indie even as they took cues from the likes of Bela Bartok and Stravinsky. Weird time signatures abound with these Belgian gents, almost math-like at times and comparisons to King Crimson were noted but overall genre-wise they really went in a totally new direction from that. I'm not really trying to make a qualitative comparison, much as I think Univers Zero was one of the greatest bands ever. And this is not like their 1982 album Ceux Du Dehors which was darker and perhaps less scattered than this one.

LONG, traditional modern feel, very fresh in terms of sound, speed changes make for very dynamic listening
Solo instruments, mixed with more involved parts, great production
Slower, pensive, mysterious, but speeds up and becomes chaotic toward end, thoughtful, brilliant final :20
Speeded up military procession drumming
Darker, modern, (overheard 'stately' sounding)
VERY LONG bonus track, Low end bass drone with some beat oriented elements, low dirgey and with 23:24 left dark chanting poetry, wow this is really evil for a while, typical parts, tortured strings
