Beautiful guitar-based world jazz from this composer/guitarist. Joined by an A-list of guest stars, including Flora Purim & Airto Moreira. A mix of Latin (mostly Brazilian) and Middle Eastern influences filtered through Spanish classical guitar style. His expert playing keeps this from falling into New Age, though it’s close…

*1. Deliciously relaxed homage to Jobim, a cool bossa-ish tune.
2. Starts slow, gets mid/up w/a definite Spanish flavor.
3. Relaxed and melodic w/light percussion & some good stringwork.
4. Mid Eastern percussion, mostly midtempo w/chimes, rainstick.
*5. Starts low & sultry feat. Flora Purim on vocals. Picks up later.
*6. Mid/up blend of various strings, a good showcase.
*7. Upbeat Arabic-Flamenco blend then slower w/jazz flourishes.
8. Slow, piano & strings, very melodic.
*9. Modern raga-infused world jam. Some really good playing.
10. A sound of Old Mexico, picks up & gets modern later on.
11. Slow, romantic w/lots of strings
