Into The Woods

Midwestern sounding (but actually from Humbolt County, CA), true & "technical indie rock". Yep, that's right plenty of stop/starts, intricate bass & drum work. Instead of being "math rock", it's more in the place of an innovative band from the 80's like The Minutemen or some 90's stuff like Vertigo (the old AmRep band) or Slug (the noise rock band,). In all, very solid musicianship and mostly good vocals.

SIDE A
((((1)))) Slow bass/drum build up that gets louder then mellow and back again.
((((2)))) Really good guitar/bass sound. Pretty loose overall. Lyrics all en español.
((((((3)))))) Fast chords & later by a lot of changing tempos. Listen for the cascading flurry of notes from the guitarist. The dude just OWNS IT!
((((((4)))))) Slow but bombastic & bassy.

SIDE B
(((((1))))) Pounding drums, mixed with big rockin' chords & pretty intense vocals. Some interesting moves inward/outward.
(((2))) Not bad but a bit confusing in the continually changing patterns.
(((((3))))) Stop-start mania. Radness!
((((((4)))))) Lots of big 'ol bass & stop on a dime tempos. Really cool!
((((5)))) Very early 90's, strummy & pummel-y, lots of chord changes.
