Wonderous, airy, folk/ethereal sounds all done by Liz Harris. This one unlike previous release is as mentioned, more folk based and there’s less vocal and voice effects. Regardless of the change this makes for thoroughly enjoyable. Sounds like an artist that you would want to see in front in a quiet, attentive audience (good luck find one in San Francisco!) Mixes well with This Mortal Coil, Windy & Carl, This Mortal Coil and Marissa Nadler.
(((((1))))) Lo-fi, reverberations of piano and voice. Very simple, direct and pleasantly melancholic.
((((2)))) Acoustic strums, sort of poppy but still generally lo-fi and not completely straight-ahead.
(((3))) Slow, wispy, folky but a little TOO sparse.
((((4))))) Floating off into the ether. Imagine a more light weight (in a really good way) version of Swans’ “In My Garden”. Great early AM sounds.
((((5)))) Tape hiss, distant but very clear vocals, basic guitar strums. Nice to hear the fingers changing chords, too.
(((((6))))) “Ohooooooo-oooo” fills up the background amongst a bunch of elongated notes and vocal patterns.
((((7)))) More tape hiss and slow chords and beautiful vocals.
((((8)))) Experimental-folk? Loose, clean channel chords, breathy and hazy vocals. Interesting.
((((9)))) Bright chords, expressive, fairly poppy folk.
((((((10))))) Warbling vocals (not unlike Grouper’s early material) droning with extremely sparse vocals that drifts across a field. Excellent!
(((((11))))) Organic, layered occasionally droning but structured in places, too.
(((((12)))))) Trippy, lo-fi, psych-folk strums, great sleepy-time tune.
