Mellow, concise, vocal-oriented alt-pop. Definitely reminds me of Elliott Smith. Much of it is sweet pop based off of guitars, piano, bass and drums, with two male singers, who often sing together, and add backing vocals frequently. Vocals are wonderful on this record. Production is strong with interesting flourishes, often electronic. This is sedate pop, and a pretty decent record. No FCC violations, track 7 uses ‘ass hole’.

1. Dynamic changes, rhythmic-oriented, groovy drums, maybe a xylophone on outro, sounds like Modest Mouse meets Elliot Smith (2:45)
2. Sounds a bit mariachi-esque, vocals have an effect on them, a bit distant, more down-tempo, shakers as percussion (3:33)
*3. Great, sweet vocals; guitars, keys form simple hook, builds to a beautiful outro (3:53)
4. Guitar oriented, electronic sounding touch added to chorus, “I’m counting on you to misinterpret what I say” (3:34)
5. Opens with a bit of a sample, laid back feel, slow song, primarily featuring one acoustic guitar and vocals (3:35)
6. Title track, uptempo, prominent rhythm and guitar parts, strong choruses, exciting, sort of whimpers out at the end (3:11)
*7. Folky intro, Gibbard-esque singing, “ass hole” is used, drenched guitar effects add to an organ on this song, very summery/beachy feel (2:55)
8. Sounds almost alt-country with vocals and instrumentation, synthesizer adds a nice touch (2:00)
9. Song picks up speed quickly after intro, rockin’ tune, cool vocal/synth bridge (3:46)
10. Song is structured around a guitar riff, nice bridge builds to a great final part (3:17)
*11. Acoustic guitar is very prominent in mix, great upper-register vocals, pretty song, vocals are reverb-drenched (3:51)
12. Sirens open up the track, long instrumental passage, defeated vocals, a sample of a motorcycle pulls away to close the album (3:04)
