Graveyard Of Utopia, The

************45 RPM ********
ABSOLUTELY KILLING hardcore of right fuckin’ NOW! Pure rage but focused on exactly what the title says: the graveyard of utopia. In this case said graveyard are the empty promises and corpse strewn ideology of the Soviet Union.

This isn’t some “Rock Against Communism” bullshit. Instead, WB2D creates 8 songs with highly detailed accounts of Soviet-era history and state hysteria. All done up in the raging, heavy hardcore style like Wolfbrigade, Broken Bones and Discharge. Jack Control’s vocals are totally commanding and totally compelling. Bonus points for the lead work from the late, great guitarist Chelsea (Paintbox, DSBD).

SIDE A

((((((1)))))) Blazing hardcore, kick ass vocals killer soloing from Chelsea and Zac.
((((((2))))))) Punk & hardcore (yes it’s both) perfection!
((((((((3))))))) Amazing riffing, awesome bass lines, fierce as hell vocals. More blazing solos.
((((((((4)))))))) Arrrgh! Totally buring pure HARDCORE punk of NOW! Pissing all over those who say punk and hardcore is dead!

SIDE B
((((((((1)))))))) (FCC “Fucked up” sung 3 times 1 in beginning and twice near the end) Tons of rippin’ riffs, wailing guitars and d-beats.
((((((2))))))) Fast and precise, raw & just SLAYING hardcore!
((((((((3)))))))) Charging, d-beatin’ confrontational and brutal yet not forgetin’ to rock the fuck out.
Even the smallest element like Control singing “Waaaaarr—ugggh” makes this stand out.
((((((((4)))))))) (FCC “fucking” sung twice) Great female vocals (Ashley from Signal Lost) and amazing performances from Jack Control and Keiro. Drum work is really good too. Ends with a bunch of feedback.
