Rather good mix of hardcore, punk and ska with some veterans M.D.C. & Citizen Fish and newish bands Embrace the Kill and Mouth Sewn Shut. Features Dick Lucas (Subhumans UK + Citizen Fish on 2 tracks).
SIDE A
((((((1))))))) (FCC “FUCKING” sung three times), Wow! M.D.C. goes “speed prog”, it’s like hardcore but with bass line lifted from Rush. Pro-weed lyrics, too.
((((2))))) (FCC “BULLSHIT” sung twice) Slow intro, then bursts of loud & heavy hardcore + ska-punk. Political lyrics. Shifts from the heavy, raucous stuff to the laid back clean played chords. Also, lots of contrasts between Dick Lucas’ clean vocals and Jay Crash’s “crust as fukk voice”.
SIDE B
(((((1))))) Anthemic punky ska, driving tempo with sarcastic lyrics about modern society. Kinda like the Subhumans crossed with The Ex. Radness!
(((((2)))) Odd tempo and hip-hop/heavy rock/NYHC mix that pretty much works. The vocalist reminds me of the guy from the Crumbsuckers. Really good guitar playing, too.
