Acoustic jazz/Flamenco-Middle Eastern fusion trio. Nice live sound, recorded in Elmau, Germany. Runs the gamut from introspective, slow jazz parts to bursts of crescendos. In all, a pretty diverse and interesting collection of sounds. Renaud Garcia-Fons plays double bass Note: this release is from 2005 but it looks like the this is the first time it’s been issued in the U.S.

((((1))))) Very moody, Middle Eastern intro piece.
((((2)))) Bassy, flamenco jazz, light “sht-st-st-st” percussion. Good build up & bowed double bass (?).
((((3)))) Long piece with a slow bass & light percussion build up, more Middle Eastern meets Flamenco scales. Takes awhile to take off but when it does it sounds pretty nice then loops back to the mellow stuff.
(((((4))))) Sparse & somber Flamenco/Middle Eastern mix, really good guitar and bowed bass sound.
((((5)))) Mid-paced but tricky rhythms and interplay.
(((6))) Simple patterns, repeated and a little too redundant and typical.
((((7)))) Slow, bass-focused intro with eventual flowing guitar and "click-clackta" percussion. Very festive sound with phenomenal playing.
