Fabulous collection of performances by the man who put the “oooh” in smooth. What will strike you throughout is how effortlessly cool it all is, and how out-of-this-world his solos get. Plus how wonderful the various incarnations of his band are, how crazy they get with tempos & how 50 years of performing proves he’s as fresh in 2007 as in 1958.

*1. Relaxed, lightly swinging (great sax!) gives way to a mid jam that’s almost classical at times. Then a sweet bounce. Vintage Brubeck.
2.Waltzy intro becomes a hip, midtempo serenade w/wild solo by Dave
*3. The classic. Sound is a bit muffled but man, this rocks! His solos!!
4. Downtempo caravan snake groove w/moody sax solo…damn.
*5. Tripping, upbeat interplays, esp and varying tempos. Fast & fun.
*6. Spoken intro, upbeat, almost frantic at times, so unpredictable.
7. Slow & sad tribute to a lost friend. Heartbreakingly lovely.
*8. Totally fun Gershwin gem, up/mid with some excellent solos.
*9. Upbeat romp that just flies along. Energy and style for days.
10. Starts relaxed, picks up, slows down, warm and swinging.
