Big ass Swedish viking/death metal made by giant viking sized Swedes. Yes, they have “larger than life” persona but their ability to write really memorable songs and heavy riffs is to their benefit not their dismissal This one’s probably more melodic than ever before but it’s worth your time. Good lyrics that deal with their usual topics of both the Norse/viking histories and mythos.

(((((1)))))) Kick ass! Excellent mix of melodic death metal and traditional heavy metal. Great chorus, too.
(((2))) Thick riff and more melodic but generally catchy and memorable.
(((3))) Straight-up, heavy metal with Johan Hegg’s death metal vox. Sounds like Hegg’s overdoing it though.
((((4)))) Charging, thrashin’ modern DM. Like a soundtrack for a Viking attack upon unsuspecting village.
((((5)))) Lots of deep vocals, good use of dual guitar harmonies. Lyrics based on the Swedish Vikings protection of the Byzantine-era Istanbul (or Miklagard as they called it).
(((((6))))) Nice riffing, fantastic epic vibe that gives off that drinking horn hoisting vibe (despite it’s lyrics that deal with the time of doom for the Aesir Gods).
(((((7))))) Straight-up, fast, riffy melo-death that burst into an “typical Amon Amarth” sound in the chorus. AKA: Another raging– Viking metal attack!
(((((8)))) Mid-paced to fast-ish number that gives off that “dragon boat ripping through the waves” feeling.
(((((9))))) Fast and melodic, some interesting chord changes along with multiple vocal lines then some random string section by Apocalyptica. Odd but it works.
((((10)))) Traditional metal sound with the extreme vocals. The riffing is really good, Hegg’s vocals are decent but at times too typical.
