Stunning mix of Heavy Metal, Thrash, Doom, Crust Punk AND Black Metal. Tons of attitude and anti-trendy stance. (Clue: “Tabloid Black Metal” time has long passed). So many great riffs, blazing solos many awesome song titles. Fenriz & Culto break up the vocal duties. The songs with the more harsh BM sound are Nocturno Culto & the wild yet traditional metal voice is Fenriz. Totally inspiring stuff to say the least. Plenty of great listening suggestions in the liner notes, too.
(((((((1)))))))) Quickly strummed riffs then bam! Crust-infused black/thrash. “Though the nurseries of real metal sound”. Hell yeah!
((((((((2))))))) Crunchy & tight “thrashtastic” riff with Culto’s nasty, basement dwelling vox. Pickslides o’ plenty.
(((((((((((((3)))))))))) Blazing, d-beatin’ metal-punk! Like Darkthrone crossed with a drunken Wolfbrigade? 100% kick ass and positive (it’s about metal-punks goin’ hiking! All-riight!
((((((4))))) Dirty, groove-based riff but works with that raw BM vs. very heavy metal sound.
(((((((5))))))) Big ass opening riff, hellish vox and more heaps of killer riffs. Norsk/English lyrics.
(((((((((6)))))))) Blackened/doom into kick ass black/thrash. Vocals aren’t instantly “accessible” but this ain’t indie rock, fool.
((((((((((7)))))))))) Crazy vocals, raw fukked up Heavy Metal! Fun stuff. Bang on!
((((((((8))))))) Instrumental with nice drum roll & slow, crushing tempo. If they ever played live (yeah, right!) this would be a killer opening track.
((((((9)))))) Pinging cymbals, basic drum sound awash in mid-paced tight riffs. Dwells in the netherworld of Hellhammer’s “Triumph of Death” + uptempo raw blackened metal.
((((((((((10))))))))) Totally headbangin’ punkified Hellhammer-style, total necro Metal. Killer vocals and…Oüh!
