Antony & the Johnson’s first new release since 2006, this EP features Antony’s totally unique and beautiful vibrato voice that fits in somewhere between Nina Simone and Brian Ferry. Antony sings melancholy tunes over mostly sparse piano, with some occasional lush orchestral accompaniment. Start with starred tracks.
FCC Clean
** 1) Contemplative singing / lyrics over sparse piano, some dissonant guitar feedback kicks in at the end….beautiful song
** 2) Antony singing over piano, orchestral strings, and some guitar
3) Darker song with building dissonant distortion that turns into a weird shuffle
4) Antony singing over piano and some lush strings interrupted by dramatic pauses.
5) Singing over piano with orchestral horns and some harmonization.
