Contemplative experimental indie rock. Debut release from San Jose musician Nick Smith (also in local band "Settler"). Recorded in the living room of The Gingerbread House, a home/music venue in San Jose. Drums, synth, guitar, no vocals. --Eme O.

1) Quick crescendo, then successive swells and falls in volume. Inorganic and spacey. Starts with low notes and ends high. Loud at the end with quick fade-out.

*2) Quick drums for intro, guitar and soundscape soon to follow. Ends with instruments dropping out until you hear just a sound that's something like a wave crashing quietly on sand. Radiohead-ish.

3) High notes wail over steady drums and guitar (which alternates between just a few notes). Kind of a mid-tempo lament.

4) Lazy drum intro, followed by soft and long guitar notes. Ends abruptly.

* 5) Lonely guitar musing. Kind of blues-y, if blues were played in outer space. Ends with a fade-out of pops and crackles.

6) Slow and quiet, spare sound to start. Sounds gets louder and fuller about one minute in.

7) Starts with the audio (countdown) for a space shuttle taking
off. Countdown fades out as music gets louder, disappearing about 1 minute in. Slow, dreamy guitar and drum. Synth sounds are a constant hum, (maybe like the sound of an engine?). Gets loud with 1 minute to go and then quiet 'til the end.

8) No sound for the first 9 seconds, then the music fades in. Slow. Loud drums, arrhythmic guitar strums, simple synth melody. Fade out.

* 9) Slow. Similar to track 8 at first, except the guitar sounds something like a steel drum. Synth sounds floating in the background. Drum and guitar fade out in the middle leaving something that sounds like the music of whales, then return. Quiet low synth sounds at the end.
