Mr. Reed re-working his classic 1973 album live with samples, choruses, guest appearances and other interesting elements. The original album (and same here) is a concept record about a couple Jim and Caroline who’s relationship begins to disintegrate due to drugs, depression and etc. Reed’s guitar and piano playing is rather stellar here as are most of the songs. The original producer Bob Ezrin also did this. (As well as albums for Pink Floyd, KISS & Alice Cooper).

(((1))) Strummy guitars, samples of random pieces b-day songs & a berlin theme & a female chorus.
((((2)))) Slow but smoky & snakey piano, slowly sung vocals.
((((3)))) Oddly prog guitars, odd balladish yet also generally loud rock with horns and female chorus. Reminds me of “Dark Side” Pink Floyd but arranged for a much smaller audience.
(((4))) Weird tempo shifts from mellow and sparse to loud and in your face. Drags on too long.
((5)) Clarinet, strummy, basic rock n’ roll tempo by way of some awkward, very 70’s chorus & horns.
((6)) Swaggery, piano then 70’s AM radio rock with big horns, dwiddling guitars. Too much showmanship.
(((7))) Slow, piddling drums, bits of doot-to-doot horns, swinging rock with a sorta dark lyrics. Sort of show-tunes-y. Drags on way too long.
((((8)))) Slow, mellow guitar, violin and piano. Nice chorus & build up. Backing vox by Antony.
(((9))) Slowly strummed guitar, “typical” Loud Reed storytelling type tune about fucked up people on drugs. Pretty cool tone.
(((10))) Slow, moody & dark ballady again with some random backing chorus.
(((11))) Cascading struture and a few bursts of very 70’s sax & thudding guitars. Lou’s vox are kinda flat but the playing’s real good.
((((12)))) Slow, strummy & classic, dusty off an Velvets classic, duets with Antony, a ‘lil strange but good.
(((13))) NYC “noir-folk rock”? Slow and steady, jazzy chords. Fuzzy loud guitar comes in @ 3:26 & gets pretty loose.
(((((14))))) The Velvets oft-covered classic tune. Dunno why this wasn’t bigger when they were around or still ignored by classic rock radio but still catchy as ever and great as all get out.
