I've always liked Mario Pavone, but wow, this album really knocked my socks off.
Great inside/out jazz, accessible modern stuff that's packed with tangly, complex ideas, free-jazz soloing, and some tough-handed bass playing by Pavone. Thick-fisted stuff with an edge; tough playing that shows the callouses and digs deep. Fast, hard playing can be found on every track; play any and all. FCC clean.

1- Upbeat, with cheery declarative horns. Gets stormy, gruff, and ferocious during the first sax solo.
2- A tough kind of post-bop swing. Deliciously dense piano solo.
3- Fast patter, complex horn line. Gets fierce in spots. Wild piano solo.
4- Gets a bit tipsy/crazy. A breezy toughness: Lightly thudding bassline, languid horns over a skittish piano. Settles into a nice pulse and a good bass solo.
5- Manic and dizzying. They sure keep the piano busy. Applies a looser touch for the solos.
6- Quick 80-second blurb, part keystone cops.
7- A fast, heavy snap. Grabs you immediately. Tumbling space for solos.
8- Tangly bass solo. Dives into a chugging, tense theme. Slows up for some soaring solos.
