Album Review
Red West
Reviewed 2010-05-04
M (mostly)/ F vocal with a slight but distinct accent, rockabilly. Very listenable. Most tracks a little shy of 3 mins. Stripped-down sound. The M vocalist is a little rough, the F more subdued. Some of the music is like updated Buddy Holly, Les Paul, others have Nick Cave influence.

1. rousing, fast Euro-rockabilly instrumental
2. torch song ballroom dance (rhumba?)
3.Lost love song. Mid-tempo
4.F vocal w.M reply, late night lounge (Cat Power cover)
5.upbeat instrumental w/sax lead
6.Torch song, Nick Cave lite.
7.I like the vocals on this song. Lyrics mostly “make love to me” “lonesome train”
8.mid-tempo minor key
9.Loungy Neko Case cover
10.Peppy music with doomy lyrics
11.Simple track
12.Smoky sax, bouncy E European instrumental
13.3/4 time, mid-slow but energetic
14.alt country vocal & acoustic guitar, good singing
