Loud-ass, angry as hell, confrontation doom ridin’ sludge metal. Although the sludge content that’s present – it’s not always super slow. 16’s been around since the early 90’s – creating a sound likely inspired by bands such as Unsane, (early) Helmet & maybe even a bit of NYHC. In all, a bunch of catchy but nihilistic numbers that don’t have time for fuckin’ around with ‘playing nice’. Having just seen them live, they did exactly that.
(((1)))) Lo-fi intro, downtuned then jams out rather fast & infectious.
(((((2)))) Steady, fierce and riffy.
((((3)))) Heavy, stoner-rock-ish riffs mixed with “you’re fuckin’ doomed & so am I” vocals.
(((4))) Sabbathy riffage, suicidal lyrics but kinda flat vocals.
(((((5))))) Slow NYHC-like vocals mixed with simple but extremely effective sludge metal riffs.
(((6))) Straight-ahead basic riffs and approach. Very mid-90s sludge metal sound.
((((7)))) TOO MANY FCCS-AVOID! (Seriously there’s about 10 of ‘em). Too bad ‘cause this song is pretty damn rulin’.
((((8)))) Drum/guitar-based structure with a Melvins-like sound, with a good balance of space between notes vs. straight rockin’ out near the end.
(((((9)))) Whoa! If tough guy hardcore/metalcore” could actually sound honest and real it would strive to be like this ‘un.
(((10))) Feedback, open E chords with a twist, very direct structure and barebones, sludge metal/rawk.
((((11)))) Slow intro, good build up with some interesting variations in vocals & riffs.
((((12)))) Riffy, loud vocals, lyrically there’s equally hate towards himself and his pro- or antagonist.
