Genre: Indie-Pop/Electronic
Sounds Like: Casiotones for the Painfully Alone, James Figurine, Sound Team, Slow Runner
Personal Picks: Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6

General: Infectious indie-pop music with multi-instrumental arrangements that are layered by cuts of synth and vocal reverb. Eric Elogen (the only the man behind Say Hi) integrates a colorful mixture of acoustic and electric guitar, rhythm arousing base, and keyboard/piano rifts to transcend nostalgic moments of heartbreak and female pursuit. Elogen’s baritone vocals fluctuate between soft and loud pitches—temporally corresponding to the songs’ typical verse and chorus structure. Under Say Hi’s fun appeal are undertones of sarcastic humor and bitter emotion--he tries to be "engaging" but "submissive' at the same time

Track Descriptions (NO FCCs detected):

1. Elouise (3:57) Starts with a catchy base rift, cymbals and drums come in and out to build emotion and tempo, song develops into a well-structured and driving indie-pop song. 2. Hallie and Henry (3:36) A super poppy song about indie-kid romance, has a catchy melody that introduces a fun piano rift after the chorus. 3. Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh (2:56) Starts with some synth-sounding horns, mainly electric guitar and keyboards, music and lyrics embody sexual tension 4. November Was White, December Was Grey (3:04) Melancholic tones that begins with an acoustic guitar rift, mutli-layered instrumentation and percussion enters after the first chorus 5. Dramatic Irony (2:45) Darker pop feel pursuing emotional angst 6. Maurine (3:15) Indie-pop love/breakup vibe, synth-effects nicely harmonize the guitar arrangement, chorus is energetically catchy 7. One, Two…One (3:20) Starts with clapping and percussion, dark synth pop drives melody with a parallel medium-paced electric guitar rift 8. Audrey (1:38) Slower track driven by organ sounding keyboard effects, sparse vocals, reminds me CFTPA’s spacious dissonance 9. The Stars Just Blink for Us (3:31) Another slow song but is carried on by percussion with boring synth effects that try to recall some pivotal romantic moment 10. Sallie’s Heart Is Stone (3:22) Someone broke his heart—a slow and reflective bitter pop ballad 11. Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Acoustic (2:25) Basically an acoustic version of track 3 with the same amount of energy
