Lo-fi garage rawk with zero polish. This band features James McNew (Dump and Yo La Tengo) & two others supposedly from New London, Connecticut. This started off as a fake band mentioned in on a Yo La Tengo release. Fake or not this is pretty good. Lots of guitars, feedback and rudimentary drumming. Lots of cover tunes (Beach Boys, Richard Hell, The Troggs, Small Faces, The Kinks & Slade). In all a good fun, mess similar to Thee Headcoates and a slight “fi” higher than the Mummies. REMEMBER: for the radio it’s “Condo Frogs” or “Condo Flogs”.
((((1)))) Feedback laden, garage trash rave-up of the Small Faces tune. 1-2-3 chord & distorted vocals.
(((((2))))) Super-lo-fi, 70’s punk sounds like a Richard Hell cover?
(((3))) Strummy, reverb & slightly twangy cover of a Kinks tune. Muddled vocals.
(((4))) Decent Beach Boys cover with the Cali surf by way of garage punk.
((((5)))) Hip swingin’ surf & beach party a-go-go number that the kids used ta go crazy for.
(((6))) Pa-pa-pa, garage pop with buried vocals minus one slight break in the chorus.
((((7)))) Pretty cool Richard Hell cover tune albeit absurdly raw. That said, the bass & guitar a often good.
(((8))) Flamin’ Groovies cover, twangy quasi punk & garage rock. Good guitar sound but so-so song overall.
((9)) Strummy, very average garage rawk.
(((10))) Basic, rudimentary garage rawk with a little strutter & flair of it’s own.
(((10))) Swaggery, Stone-y tune but it’s really a cover of the Slade classic. Not bad.
