Magic Casket

Local (S.F.) one-man band doing strummy pop tunes with often odd lyrics. Reminds me of a more “rock” & twang version of Sparks or even Jonathan Richman, especially in the vocals. Altogether, simple and direct songs that are quite enjoyable. A lot of tunes that should be in a David Lynch movie or something very similar.

(((1))) Repetitive beat, starts with carnival barker/snake oil preacher voice then builds into a slinky little strummy & swaggery rock tune.
((((2)))) Theremin, clap beats with a few quick stops. Chorus mixes T. Rex/Sparks and Bowie.
((((3)))) Twangy, springy and fun.
(((4))) Slow, swampy but a little too repetitive
((((5)))) Twangy, early r n’ r via sarcastic gospel vibe, Very catchy.
(((6))) Begins with (you guess it) chirping birds. Laid back folk & strums and distorted response chorus.
((((7)))) Steady, vocal centered with basic ‘doot-doot’ chords.
(((((8))))) Ramblin’ strummy rock & surfy instrumental.
((((9)))) Shimmering chords, great vocals with occasional organ sound.
(((10)) Swampy rock kinda close to Johnathan Richman.
(((11))) Doot-doot-doot, twang-twang cover of the Leadbelly classic.
