The “tween band” phenom has born fruit: 18 year old girls who started at 13, won some contests, kept at it and now we got here some really good girl punk with pop edge, a la Muffs, Red Aunts, etc. No “novelty” about this at all, it stands on its own (I gave it the nod before I read the inside notes). Thank god some kids are still playing real guitars instead of those retarded “rock band” “guitar hero” brain cripplers.
1) driving punky pop, 2/4 hardcore thrashy beat
2) upbeat, with cute boy-girl lyrics and love lorn melodies with sass, great, with slow breakdown near end
3) more of dark rocker
4) poppier feel
5) rocker gives way to sweet poppy sensitive verses
