Experimental jazz indie rock fushion – def worth a listen, could fit many different shows at KZSU. Album is about half originals, half covers (My Morning Jacket, Leonard Cohen, The Knife, Beck, Page/Plant, George Harrison). This is the 2nd solo album from this pianist, interesting compositions that blend “indie rock sensibility and post jazz finesse.” No FCCS. Try 2, 3, 7, 10 1) Beautiful piano, great drums highlight this My Morning Jacket cove 2) * Industrial electronics, organ & simple piano 3) * Gorgeous, shuffly Leonard Cohen cover 4) A little too easy listening for my taste 5) Jazzy blues piano 6) Very pleasant, Beatles-esque tune 7) * Super interesting, layers of texture – The Knife cover 8) Sparse piano, solemn Beck cover 9) Heavy drums, bluesy piano, engaging Page/Plant cover 10) * Gentle piano, jazzy drums on this George Harrison cover. | ||
