Psychedelic freak drone folk. Daniel Higgs (of Lungfish fame) dabbles in lo-fi aesthetics and brittle melodicism. These are not sustained fuzz washes but rather frenetic jabs over Eastern-inspired tones and sounds. Layers of cyclic, backing drones with more improvised and complex guitar or banjo mannerisms hammering and drifting in the forefront of the mix. All the tracks sort of bleed into each other so watch out. This is the kind of stuff I’d want to listen to on a rainy day. This was originally out of print on cassette, so rejoice, fans of both mediums. No FCCs.

1. Humming, looping drone, guitar playing is melodic, a little bit mysterious. (5:33)
2. Some memorable guitar passages here with an early, almost Eastern refrain established. (10:39)
3. Mellower drone that rings like a siren at 1/8th speed, dreamier, emotive guitars. (6:58)
4. Searing, abrasive, noisy tone drone, squeaking, gurgling instruments are manipulated and sequencers pulse to create an uneasy mood. (3:41)
5. Lo-fi wash after a soothing interlude-type track. (3:36)
6. Long banjo work out, confrontational, more intense track. This one will definitely challenge your listeners. (15:03)
7. Piercing tones open, some strange field recordings come in, echoed plucking comes in, minimalistic hook, tape manipulations. (4:58)
8. Starts off a little slower with more ambient noise, plucked patterns are a bit old-timey but definitely an interesting mood.(9:29)
9. Phaser guitar tone noodling, increases in intensity, odd. (1:16)
