Acoustic drone-pop from the ex-frontman of American Analog Set. This has a similar sound to AmAnSet but with no vibraphone or organ, more acoustic guitar and more percussion. Lots of layering of instruments and riffs. A pretty great album if you're into that American Analog Set sound. My picks: 1, 5, 6, 9, 11 (FCC), 12 FCC: 11 mid tempo. upbeat. nice layering of instruments. mid tempo. steady percussion and bass lay a bed for a nice melody mid tempo. lots of 'ahh' vocals. mostly acoustic guitar. bass+percussion enters later. med-fast. percussion heavy, slight bass and guitar. lush vocals med-fast. originally a solo Andrew Kenny song. great version. med-slow. classic slow AmAnSet-style sound, but with acoustic guitar. whispered vocals. med-slow. lush vocals slow. almost crawling. percussion, looping guitar. med-fast. dark m+f vocals. nice melodies. mid tempo. longest of the record at 4:04. soft vocals, so sort of like an instrumental. FCC ('fucked up' @ 0:57 left) med-fast. the most upbeat pop number of the bunch. mid tempo. my favorite of the bunch. great bass line + melody. | ||
