Alex Willner from Sweden = The Field, a chill techno/electronic “pop ambient” act. While there’s a lot of swirling, ethereal electronics there’s also a lot of beats. The results are mixed but in when it lets things work, i.e. – not making annoying “raver-llte” generica – it comes across honest and really more listenable. The better tracks are great to listen to on a commute or while studying.

((((1)))) Wide open electronics and a bunch of repetitive, hypnotic beats.
(((2))) Glitchy pop with cheesy pop schmaltz vocal lines. Though, the laid back electronics on after the first 1:20 or so sound really nice.
((3)) WAY too same-y beats & tempo but a few nice bass lines & here in there.
(4) Main beat comes off like a skipping CD in a washing machine. Next!
((5)) A tad more variation mixing loops of a breathy & moaning lady, bass & cascading tweeps & twerps. (Tweep & twerp? Is that a social network site?) Runs WAY too long.
(((((((6))))))) Cyclical, spacey, motorik. A mix of Tangerine Dream/70’s German “kosmische musik” style & the Orb. FANTASTIC!
