BBVD comes out swinging with a tribute to the music of Cab Calloway. The horns burn up the joint and the whole release is high-energy musical Crack that keeps you feeling good. Great piano & stylish arrangements, plus vocals (not as good as Cab, of course, but a valiant attempt). Every track a gem. As Byrd would say “this is the shit!”

1. Jumpin, thumpin, bumpin. Hot horns, wicked perc & vox. Yow!!
2. Happy upbeat boogie just made for jitterbugging.
3. Upbeat jive jam w/infectious energy & a gotta dance vibe.
4. Lush big band midtempo bounce w/fun work from all.
5. Classic fun midtempo swing w/some good solos.
6. Big horns lead the sway in this midtempo play. Nicely hip.
7. Solid brass w/a happily lowdown vibe then some playful mystery.
8. Relaxed and gritty Smokey Joe w/reference to Minnie. Down & dirty.
9. Upbeat and swinging w/sweet muted trumpet and a crazy energy.
10. Minnie steams up the night, dirty horns. Varying tempos, great big band.
11. Instant energy, crazy upbeat swing. So fun, let’s dance.
