Warm instrumental hypnagogic pop w/ laptop percussion, mixed with the lounge-cheese sensibilities of tortoise. Repetitive structjure, and some cute toy sounds. A cotton ball is more abrasive than this album. Not really much in the way music musicianship, virtuoso, or experimentation. Would play nicely between with broadcast, american analog set, stereolab. For a fucked up take on this album try ducktails, the polyps. fcc clean 1) relaxed tropical watery guitar & clinky laptop percussion w/ organ swells 2) happy twinkly faux 50's commerical jingle sound w/ treated snare 3) sparse western guitars w/ clippy clop percussion & fx 4) great arpeggiated guitar/keyboard intro, gets ruined by awful cliche of a laptop beat 5) churning, thick warm looped guitar w/ a dramatic piano line and handclaps 6) toy box sound & easy sounds give way to a freakout with thicker guitars and a noise mash, and ends with the same toy box sound | ||
