Big assed fuggin rootsy blues rock where you can actually smell the tubes cooking when you listen. What is it about Detroit that makes the baddest assed rockers in the world? And why do these duos feel the need to make bass players obsolete? (is it because everyone plays guitar nowadays?). If you want some good American rock and fucking roll look no further. For fans of not fucking around, of swaggering sincerity, of going to the Midwest in search of the roots and heart of rock and roll. Fans of Jon Spencer, White Stripes, Kiss, MC5, Gallon Drunk, Two Gallants.
1) brief intro, silly circus-like organ and tones
2) balls out fucking rawkin!!! Who needs to wax one’s nether regions when you can just crank this
3) dramatic ballad feel with piano and verse/chorus shifts, about 2/3rds in it shifts to a plodding dirty swing
4) twangy rootsy rock, I hate to bring up the White Stripes, but hey
5) upbeat faster chuggin rock with bluesy rockisms
6) ballady, tom toms and cleaner guitar
7) a genuine heartfelt singer-songwriter piano ballad, a la springsteen or something (dare I say! Pah!), lovely
8) FCC, bluesy with slide guitar
9) upbeat western feel turns into a rip roaring yee-haw!! CAREFUL: ends with 1 minute remaining, false ending followed by some solo guitar noodling
10) smell the tubes, upbeat crunchy guitar, friendly upbeat feel
11) solo singing with guitar, Two Gallants feel
12) slow dramatic ballady bluesy rock
