Pan-Mediterranean music. Klezmer, Balkan,Middle-Eastern and more, played by three clarinet virtuosos. (Plus accordion & percussion.) All instrumental and extremely well played.
*1. 4-part “Aegean Suite”, starts like an upbeat belly dance and keeps things fiery and fresh. Really good.
*2. Upbeat Italian folk dance w/lots of energy and style.
3. Slow trills lead into a dark tone full of counterpoint.
4. Spanish/Middle Eastern infused hora gets wild crazy.
5. Greek ode, slow and mysterious w/drama & unpredictability.
*6. Lively folk dance w/a crazy carnival wildness.
*7. Upbeat contemporary folk w/a twisting melody.
*8. Dark and snake-like, mostly slow w/a hint of Russia.
