Album Review

Very young (<21yo) folksy band lead by smoky, sexy voiced female. She's the heart of the band but when they leave her on an island with simple instrumentation the EP falters (2+3). On the best tracks here she is joined by a male voice who complements perfectly and the guitar, violin and drums really pick up the pace and nuance. Moldy Peaches if they were from Minnesota and sang songs about anxieties about going away to nyc where they could be all ironic and shit...

--Frank

*1) male/fem vox. strummy guitar, sounds hollow. strings come in with 2nd chorus. basically sweet and simple; take your shirt off and play this at parties.
2)slight guitar beat teased by drums and violin, then true chorus... guitar+rums set simple beat for violin, which sort of solos a couple times.
3) dual fem vox. faint plucked plucked banjo, more prominent drums.
**4) male/fem vox, at once call/response and dual. pretty. male is a cool contrast with his more flat delivery. uptempo drums and violin have texture + ebb, not just beat
**5) Ramblin', travelin' song. male vox with chorus vs. fem. stripped down guitar and the rest, sounds like a jam in a van.
