Bad Lieutenant-“Never Cry Another Tear” No FCC Violations

Not from the movie(s)! Rather, this is the new incarnation of “New Order” (sans Peter Hook & his high register notes on the bass). It could essentially pass for a recent New Order (or Electronic) release, with Bernard Sumner’s distinctive vocals, lots of guitars (including New Order’s “jangly” guitar timbre), & less synths than early/mid New Order.
Overall: Very solid production & songs. No spectacular songs.
Recommended Tracks: 3 (up-tempo, driving beat, guitar arpeggios, even a Hendrix-esque riff), 5 (mid-tempo, nice orchestration of multiple guitars), 6 (mid-tempo, fairly quiet verses & louder chorus, organ sounds like that “Won’t Get Fooled Again”), 9 (Comparatively funky start, then turns subdued, down/mid-tempo), 12 (Nice acoustic guitar intro/backing, different vocalist, sounds a bit like Chris Martin).
