“Girls kick ass” funky post-punk. Disco meets rock on the Gossip’s latest album, composed of 45 minutes of edgy beats complemented by frontwoman Beth Ditto’s huge voice. Play this if you’re in the mood for some danceable punk rock with a feminine edge.
1) * simple but strong; deep electric guitar riff + aggressive drums; seems like the perfect song for a slow-motion action sequence for a woman in a Quentin Tarantino film 2) progressive electric guitar riff with upbeat drums complemented by Ditto’s womanly vocals 3) * typical upbeat punk track with girlish twist 4) dominated by piano and underlined by synthesizer elements and steady drums 5) cowbell + synthesizer + maracas… sounds like Gloria Estefan in a space ship 6) slow hip hop drums and electric guitar with synthesizer accents 7) * super catchy cowbell +upbeat electric guitar riffs + funky drum beats + fun lyrics about “men in love…with each other” 8) low key drums + background bass with focus on Ditto’s gospely vocals and a synthesizer riff 9) aggressive drums + dark bass 10) funky drums and a funky bassline; 80s synth over the chorus 11) spacey synth + hip hop beat 12) spunky punk highlighted by some bits of trumpet 13) groovy hip hop beat with 70s synth
