65DaysOfStatic/ Escape From New York
post-rock, instrumental, math rock, experimental group originally from the UK. Took their name from the 1954 CIA-backed coup d’etat in Guatemala. There, the CIA disabled Guatemalan communication systems while spreading propaganda, leading to the overthrow of the government. it’s pretty great. fast and full of lush strange sounds, guitar, thumping heartbeats, and digitally stuttering voices.
FCC CLEAN Try 1, 5, 8, 9
1. **speeds up, screaming, crazy strummy percussive beats piano interlude 2. computer noises! shimmers, then you’re in a strobe light club from the deeps. 3. chimes, twinkling, speaking, then electric guitar rocks out, synthy rock, heavy percussion 4. fuzzy static cheering, synthy melody, spooky shimmers, tambourines, driving beat kicks in with guitar, mellows out, then goes crazy with drums and drawn out wailing guitar 5. **shaky distorted guitar in a foggy TV that is out of focus, then piano, shakey, distorted voices, over simple melody 6. sporadic chords, speeds up to medium energy percussive, guitar groove with awkward pauses and explosion of sound and speed, mellows out for a moment then beings to pick it up again, the end of this track is crazy and then there is cheering 7. softer, pretty opening, then backed with drumbeat, piano, stew of noise with nails and screws in it, but they are delicious – audience address at end about tour with the cure goes into next track 8. **shakey distorted softness, clear piano chords, gorgeous, speeds up into heavy hitting drumbeat, and mellow electric guitar, piano stays on melody, chimes 9. **fast, crazy apes from outer space brought their bassy synth and laser beams and they are running in the cheese fighting an epic battle against space invaders 10. screechy and fast and slows down to pretty piano, dramatic bass drums crazy video games on paranoid acid at the end. ends with clapping fyi
