Masssssssssssssssssive churning industrial/frozen landscapes & dizzying dream logic use of field recordings, plus secret prizes on this reissue from 1992 from some hall of fame dronesters (dan Burke & jim o'rourke). Lulls you into an trance and then jars you with the largest sounds ever made, and spits you out disoriented with weirdo field recording. Reminiscent of dreams I've had on demerol where I was tortured in a meat closet. Play it on the dancefloor! Play it at your Soririty Hazing!|
fcc clean- brick
1- Colossal, deep, churning, dark cavernous industrial bleak noisescape, with frightening surprises. killer surprise horror movie chords & field recordings changes in the sound wave structure. ends with a dizzy rock 'n roll tease, back to nothing.
2- Starts with the most beautiful icy pulse I have ever heard, sparsely interrupted for the first ten minutes, I want this track to be playing when I am peacefully euthanized in outer space. Oh, dogs appear, too. At -1050, the machine turns evil, massive jet engine type of stuff. The neighbors are going to kill me and some dogs outside are barking. Some gongy instrumentation restores order, closing the piece with a peaceful ear filling drone against buzzing sonic tension.
3- Tense, dark subwoofer melting low end pulse + an approaching storm w/ subtle horn instrumentation. at 3:45 they unleash the beast. and is it mean…. oh booy, this one's a doozy?
4- well field recording collage of air traffic, humans in cars, bird. the end sounds like getting beat up by a cop around a campfire, on the its a small world rides at disneyland. the hit single!?
