Pianist Jamal shows off his fluid technique in this release that features mostly original compositions. Tracks are full of unexpected tempo changes and other surprises that keep things swinging. Delicious work from James Cammack on bass and Manolo Badrena & Kenny Washington on percussion.

1. Hip midtempo groove that flows into liquid slowness then back again.
*2. Fluid piano & bird calls then a lyrical rainy day love song. Sigh…
*3. Swinging and energetic w/passages of drama & passages of playfulness.
4. Trills and flourishes, mostly midtempo w/percussion bouncing off piano.
*5. Drums march into a relaxed piano sway that picks up & gets some improv.
6. A cha-cha-infused meander w/relaxed drums packing swaying piano.
*7. Upbeat late night groove w/a tight, sophisticated arrangement. Cool.
8. Tempo changes take it from ballad to jungle. Sweet piano work.
*9. Dramatic intro to mid/upbeat jam that gets really swinging.
10. Gentle ballad w/layers of emotion and sadness.
11. Dripping with romance, a passionate showcase for piano.
