Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2010-03-09
Local artists (Scott Jenerik- Charnal Records, Ethan Port – Savage Republic, Aleph Kali) who are stalwarts of the noise/experimental scene (arguably built it) produce advanced avante rock that smacks of prog, with tribal’isms, but has a heavy foundation in noise. Lovely unclassifiable stuff. Reminiscent of old locals Saqquarra Dogs. Savage Republic comes through. All good.

1) FCC, folkie ballad
2) tribal feel to this with cool backwards effects, creepy near-whispered vocals, 2/3rds in kicks into a cool dark rock groove
3) tribal drums with tripped out effects again, plodding and super hypnotic, way fucking cool
4) long intense droning driving wall of sound rocker with desperate voice-over, screaming wailing guitars in the end, lovely
