Dark, noise and math-influenced rock. Distorted, buried female vocals, non-traditional tonal arrangements, intense rhythm focus, experimental, industrial leanings. Datus is a Brooklyn band that recently opened for Retribution Gospel Choir. But not as bad. Very interesting and worth your time. No FCCs noted.

1. Disjointed, mathy feel, dissonant, chunky tones, off-time feel, heavy syncopation, distorted, shouty vocals. (3:10)
2. Abrasive, up-tempo, drum kit abuse, lots of dynamic shifts. (2:15)
*3. Instrumental. Brief dreamy intro, off-kilter dissonance in guitars; drops out for quieter bridge, tremelo’d guitar trippiness comes in. (3:14)
*4. Slower tempo, kind of trip-hoppy rhythm, delirious late-night spaciness, mysterious, almost a normal song with a chorus and melodic arrangement; really pretty. Kind of Portishead-esque. (4:44)
