American Dollar – The Atlas
Reviewed by Enzo 3/30/10
The American Dollar creates cinematic, electronica-tinged instrumental rock. The duo fuses processed drums, spacious keyboards and powerful organ swells with electric guitar and bass, creating deep sonic textures. The swirling soundscapes build and swell, punctuated by glitchy beats, breathing and expanding into crashing guitars and soaring leads: precisely constructed symphonies for a new era. A beautiful language of melodies and rhythm that touches the listener.
1) Quite inspirational and dreamy, melodic keyboards. 2) uptempo jazzy drums, Rock instrumental with electronic beats and soft synths, vital. 3) Uptempo, harmonious instrumental Nu-age rock performance, drums, electric guitars, bass, synths. 4) Uptempo , multi-layered spacious and pleasant keyboards tones. 5) Midtempo drums, precisely composed with transitions, entertaining and inspirational lead guitars in 2:00 6) Rhythmic mid-tempo drums with a rich texture of melodies in between guitars, ambient synths and organ notes, contemplative feel. 7) Up-tempo, hypnotic blend of instrumentation with pleasant uplifting melodies. 8) Downtempo, multilayered ambient string synths, organs and guitars added after 1:00, romantic feel. 9) Chillout, harmonic series of ambient melodies, soft drums, guitars and organs, soulful and peaceful feel. 10) Same composition style, tone rises at 1:15, kind feel. 11) Mid-tempo, melodic synth bells, openness feel. 12) Piano reverse sfx in intro, sudden transition on 1:50, melancholic feel. 13) Downtempo, melodic layered textures, smooth and soft rhythms.
