Sublime girl rock that has major elements of psyche, surf, garage, and 50’s sock hop-twee without being “retro” or derivative. Great stuff, almost a super group with Vivian Girls, Yeah Yeah Yeahs involved, and guest appearances, and production credits going to folks involved with hits like “My Boyfriends Back” and “I want Candy” (wow! Say no more really. How the fuck did they pull that off? Oh, Poneman…). Just really great. And I swear on my mother’s grave. All songs killer. And I mean it.
1) upbeat driving and pensive feel, kinda dark
2) poppy for sure, “hit” quality I’m looking for, underscores the strangeness, fun dirty and almost twee
3) surfy beat, swingy and fuzzy reverb, sick guitar tones
4) fun simple rockin, great melodic layers, super cool!
5) slow sexy psyche
6) upbeat totally driving head nodding garage rocker
