UK outfit that melds improv, noise, jazz and space-synth rock to a level of prog that would make Ragnar blush. Hawkwind meets Tomita and kicks Can’s and Pink Floyd’s asses while fighting over rights to score the soundtrack to the next Planetarium feature with Tangerine Dream. Lots of saxes, proggy electric guitar, and synths that smack of 70’s cheesiness, yet combine into something that Miles Davis may have concocted had he been born in a pub and raised by English blood hounds.
Disc 1.
1) big epic atmospheric spacey intro, with saxes, synths, the kitchen sink, electro rhythmic prog follows, space jazz, Miles Davis meets Pink Floyd, Tomita
2) total space jam, upbeat, synth comes across cheesy but fun, very “prog”, ends with ambient spaciness
3) ambient, spacey, chill
4) hypnotic synth with electric guitar leads dominating
5) proggy urgent but chill
6) full on analog synth improv noise-fest, spacey and trippy and weird
Disc 2.
1) cool epic space jam, psyche flavor and spacey, Hawkwind comes to mind, etc
2) long, a spacey ambient wash, collage of tones and sounds
3) ambient space out wash continues, this time for a long long time
4) ambient collage builds into a subtle yet urgent jam, tenor sax dominating, guitar, jazz meets space rock
