Beautiful ambient/drone. Vinyl rip of Aidan Baker (of Nadja) and Noveller split LP released a few months ago. Baker’s side is one long ambient bliss out and not nearly as heavy as Nadja can get. Noveller’s side extensively uses loops to intersperse guitar pluckings with fuzz. On the whole, the split is melodic, ethereal, and soft on the ears. For fans of Hydrocodone, MBV, Windy and Carl, and the kings of radio. Track 1 is recommended for drugs, 2 for prettiness, and 3 for relaxation. No FCCs 1. Slow, patient, lush, ambient, blissful, warm, ringing tones sustained and stretched out for minutes at a time; Eno, Stars of Lid-esque. (20:07) 2. Looped guitar lines interweave a twinkly, gentle melody, and a fuzzy, bowed undertone anchors the pretty piece. (6:49) 3. Melodic drone fuzz behind a more ominous, delayed, melancholic guitar twang; reserved and restrained, very peaceful until a chaotic conclusion. (9:05) |
