Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2010-08-01
Southern Fried, or at least Southern Sautéed, singer songwriter indie/pop. The twang in this sounds deep south and not some New York hipster’s idea of western (though there a tad too). Vocals sound like an indie rock Paul Simon to me, with a dash of Howe Gelb (Giant Sand). Its all perfectly recorded, mixed and produced, just lovely stuff. For fans of the Beautiful Confusion, Neal Young, things like Wilco and Tarnation, Emmy Lou and hipster era Johnny Cash.

1) upbeat, poppy, slightly Southern Fried
2) medium, well written with dreamy pedal stee
3) lovely, mellow 4) waltzing, a song about coney islands Mermaid Parade
5) upbeat, peppy
6) mellow, dreamy feel
7) very different, a chantlike song
8) upbeat
9) morose waltz
