Lovie is an “all-girl” group out of Dallas, TX. Fem vox tend to be saccharine, happy but at times too much so, making for a somewhat grating EP, less-listenable than they probably intended. They tend to stick to an 80s “girls just want to have fun” sound, but with decent variation between songs.

1.* 3:42 fast. big, loud guitar. 80s drum beats and Casio synths like The Bangles, B-52s. Dance party with driving rhythm that doesn’t let up. Begins and ends with a big guitar squelch.
2. 3:00 slow/mid. harmonized fem vox that are sometimes off-key, unfortunately unintentionally. vocal-centered, then big guitar cuts in.
3.** 2:01 fast. guitar-centered, all the basics: funky 80s casio, loud guitar, rockin solos.
4. 3:01 slow. guitar is more indie, harmonized fem vox with spaced-out production. synth strings.
5. 3:43 slow/mid. indie vibe, harmonized fem vox that sound more like breeders, early liz phair, sleater-kinney. epic/anthemic. heavy drums.
6.** 3:06 mid/fast. vocals are much more stripped down on this one, and harmonized on chorus. dance-able. funky 80s casio synth. drums and distorted guitar are there for backing. By far the most listenable on the CD despite somewhat lackluster lyrics.
7.* 4:23 slow/mid. epic shoegaze, emo anthem dedicated to her mattress. guitar chords tug at the heartstrings. bare fem vox get echo-y when the chorus comes. Longest guitar solo on the CD.
