Hard to categorize combination of prog rock and avant-garde-ish jazz, leaning heavily toward jazz on this EP. Swinging beats that usually demand head-nodding, not dancing. Funky 70s electric piano, can’t tell if it’s a Wurlitzer or Rhodes - for simplicity I’ll go with Rhodes. Big variation between songs: each one highlights a specific instrument. All instrumental aside from #2, which has sampled vox.

*=liked, **=loved

1.** 1:48 Fast, frantic instrumental that never lets up. Big, loud guitar opens things up for rockin avant-garde jazz drums. Limited noodling. Nice soundbed for the adventurous DJ.

2. 3:39 Mid. Starts with what sounds like sampled news, which continues throughout the song. Typical prog-rock guitar, chord progression. Neat distorted organ. Heavy, moving bass.

3.** 4:35 Fast instrumental. Avant Rhodes-based melody, backed by nice bass and drums. You could describe the whole song as a prog/avant Rhodes solo and not be too far off. Engrossing, holds your attention in a way that very few avant pieces can. Great as a soundbed also.

4.* 2:13 Fast/mid instrumental. With a track named “Drum Roll”, it’s pretty obvious what you get with this song. Flips the script on #3, with Rhodes and bass supporting the drummer as he shows off his skills. More chaotic than the other tracks.

5.** 7:05 Fast. Frantic yet pleasing. Avant drumming and Rhodes with a funky backing bass. That’s all you need to know.
