Guitar strum-laden 1st & 2nd wave-indie/college radio poppy rock (the kind the doesn’t make you wanna wretch). Really good playing through each song and plenty of catchy tunes. A solid mix of Sonic Youth, Sebadoh (mostly in the vocals) strummy British style 90’s psych-pop drift like Ride or The Felt. BOTH SIDES 33 RPM SIDE 1 ((((1)))) Pretty catchy, wah-heavy mid-period Sonic Youth-like tune. ((((2)))) Laid back, poppy with “oooo-ohh”s, strumy very British pop-psych sound. Really good guitar sound. (((3))) Lots of noodly guitars. ((4))) Sparse, strumy, poppy, repetitive. (((5))) Warbly, slightly jazzy pop (((6))) More jazzy chords & early 90’s indie ‘ala Slint but gets more barebones near the end. SIDE 2 ((((1)))) Nice acoustic intro, then electric strums and good interplay with the bass. Again mixing Sonic Youth and British bands such as Ride and The Felt. (((2))) VERY much like Sebadoh but not quite enough to completely grab attention. Although getting there. ((((3)))) Slow build up, bright & strumy with plenty of bass underneath. Very patient & focused vocals. (((4))) Airy, “doo-doot-doo”, laid back guitar pop done right. ((((5)))) “Dun-don-dunna” tempo, light keyboards, airy vocals + acoustic guitar backing. Then a tad psych-fuzz in the middle and mellow near the end. |
