I wonder what you expect when seeing the name ‘Ratatat’. There’s plenty of fancy guitar works and dramatic harmonics. As always, the sound is both creative and somewhat predictable, which is what gives Ratatat their charm. LP4 is apparently a weirder listen than LP3, which I guess explain the harpsichord and string section. FCC: Clean Try: 12, 6, 8 1) 4:14 Fancy hiphop-ish rhythm with trembling synths with ‘march-ing’ 2nd half 2) 5:55 German spoken intro, breaks into crisp upbeat synth and guitar harmonics show. Classic Ratatat 3) 4:06Rattling percussion, deep bass & vocal samples. 4) 2:10 Piano/guitar/string ballad in ¾ 5) 4:01 Crazy deep bass, tribal percussion and… a harp? 6) 3:42 * Blippy 8-bit guitars, vocoder vocals. Like the 2010 version of a Nintendo game 7) 2:02 Sounds like someone played the last track at half speed.
