DASH JACKET -ROMANCE. (LIFE'S BLOOD FLOW) as reviewed by mr. esq. lo-fi/noise rock/neo-surf. kinda cross btwn gbv&sebadoh&sonic youth. two man outfit (but they really create a dense sound&atmosphere.) it's nice. FCC CLEAN! SUGGESTIONS: 4, 5, 7, 9, 10. 1. sebadohish instrumental begin. vox kick in late. kinda ride. 2. jangles. lo-fi ala gbv/pollard. gets bashy. 3. instrumental. this album gets even more lo-fi! very dirty&gritty. *4. sounds like it's a cathedral shaping. pollard's voice haunts... *5. instrumental. feedback city! (varrry sonic youth) =kicks ass! leads into... 6. this. very sebadoh&dinosaur jr. *7. instrumental. almost surfy git. this is pretty nice....harsh noise kicks in&out. 8. gbv in it's rockingist momes. then it goes into a long jam. (i suggest fading out: it's a boring jam.) *9. BEST TRACK: barely audible at first. sounds like a music box. simple&sweet: a boy&his guitar gently weep. lovely. *10. ALMOST BEST TRACK: really poppy jangle up. | ||
